Romanian translation for TEI Publisher, the open source project for digital editions

2 min read May 06, 2020

Dear members of the Romanian chapter,

I would much appreciate your help in providing Romanian language version for the open source project for digital editions and publishing called TEI Publisher. This software I'm working on since my Marie Curie fellowship in 2015 will be soon released in version 6.

Localizing Publisher for Romanian requires translating about 130 labels via Crowdin platform. To log in, you can use your existing social media accounts, e.g. twitter, fb or Google. Entire translation process takes about 1hour, thanks to translation memory built into the platform which provides suggestions, so it's enough to correct (I did it for my native Polish and helped with several other languages). We have 12 languages completely translated but unfortunately not Romanian and I hope you can help or spread the request to your colleagues.

If you are interested in digital editions or long-term preservation and publishing of heterogeneous scholarly content (e.g. archive collections or library context) please do not hesitate to contact me or even consider joining newly founded society e-editiones to join a community focused on sharing best practices and long-term, sustainable solutions in this area.

Hoping to hear from you,

Magdalena

Dear Maria,

Thanks for your kind offer!

We hope to have the release ready early next week but if this is too short, any time afterwards will be good too as we are planning another release in the early summer (tentatively end of June, early July).
