Secondment expenses - Reimbursement

1 min read Jun 22, 2018

Dear All,

I will have a secondment for 1 month and my university is saying that I am not allowed to ask for any reimbursement (transport, subsistence, etc.) once back. I am wondering if this is true (knowing that I still have money in the budget) and if there is any documents clarifying what is exactly covered in a secondment (knowing that I am not paying for accomodation abroad).

Thank you very much in advance.

Best wishes,

Zaineb

Hello Zaineb,

What is exactly your position? I am an Early Stage Researcher under ITN-ETN Horizon 2020, and secondments are part of my program and, thus, are fully covered.

Below I want to quote “Guide for Applicants, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions -Innovative Training Networks (ITN) Version 3.1-2018, 27 October 2017:

"Normal practice during secondments is for the recruited researchers to keep their contract with the sending institution, which also pays their travel and subsistence expenses (e.g. accommodation, visa, residency card) from the institutional unit costs".

I think the same applies to Individual Fellowships.

I would be curious to know whether you have solved this issues with your university…

Cheers,

Marina
