Panelists:
Christos Boutopoulos is an Associate Professor in the departments of ophthalmology and biomedical engineering at the University of Montreal. He received a PhD in Applied Physics (2011) and a MSc in Nanotechnology (2008) from Athens Polytechnic, Greece. He completed postdoctoral training in biophotonics (2016) at Polytechnique Montreal and at the U. of St. Andrews (UK). He was awarded a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship for his postdoctoral training. His lab develops laser-enabled technologies for drug delivery and eye surgery guidance. He has authored or co-authored 35 papers and filed 3 patent applications.
Frank Wendt is an Associate Research Scientist in Yale's Division of Human Genetics in Psychiatry and an incoming Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Toronto (summer 2022). His postdoctoral training at Yale was supported by an NRSA F32 Individual Postdoctoral Fellowship from the National Institute of Mental Health. His research focuses on identifying and understanding the consequences of genetic variation associated with multiple traits. He has co-authored 75 research articles, book chapters, and reviews.
