1 min read Aug 20, 2018

Dear members,

We will soon have to submit our next annual plan. It is thus time for those of you who have ideas or who would like to play a stronger role in the chapter to suggest activities and let us know if you would be willing in leading these activities during the next year: September 2018 - August 2019. Any ideas for activities related to science communication, careers, gender equality, innovation, science policy or any other activities you are interested in are welcome, like inviting members to visit our company, organizing a science slam, a seminar, a webinar,... Please, share your ideas below.

We will submit our Annual Plan by September 15.

Cheers,

Yves

Salut Yves, a thought from Brazil - is an annual meeting on some theme already part of the plan of activities? I am also a member of the Brazil chapter, and we have a yearly MCAA Brazil-Europe workshop (see link below), involving ourselves and local participants and invitees from different sectors (research, industry, government). It has been a success, both in raising our profile, and in getting us together in different venues from across a huge country. As the French chapter membership is also dispersed across an area that is fairly large (in European terms...), I wonder if it might be of interest. Although you are of course closer to the MCAA annual meeting, which might change the perspective on what or where consititutes a useful gathering.

In any case, I will be in France from May 2019 for the final year of my Global Fellowship, and so better able to participate in chapter activities.

Best wishes, Daniel

Bonjour Daniel,

Thanks for your comment. We are planning two meetings for the coming year. One along with the GA in Vienna and the second one in France where I hope we'll be enough members to organize something similar to what the Brazil chapter has achieved (which btw is impressive).

Looking forward for your participation to the chapter activities.

Cheers,

Yves
