Does any one have experience requesting an amendment for suspension because parental leave?

Hi Jannis,
Thank you for your answer. I will ask in Spanish Chapter about their experience.
I know that 'the suspension will take effect the day the notification is received by the [Commission][Agency]' is a little bit confuse but it was the reply of my MSCA project officer, and it's in the Grant Agreement as well. That's why I posted the question here, to know how it's actually applied. It seems context dependent, I see.

Hi Lucia,
just a short thought on that: I think you should notify your university as early as possible (or according to Spanish law) and they should ask the Commission for suspension at your first day of leave. It would be quite impractical for you do that yourself anyway. But, that is just what I think how it should be, I don't know whether my university officially asked for suspension in my case.

Hi Jannis,
Yes, my research centre was already notified. Thanks for you sharing your experience.

Hi Lucia,
I think that this might depend on your University procedures and country specific rules. I took paternity and parental leave at my University in the UK. I briefly checked with my Marie Curie project officer (it is a ITN, not a IF but not sure whether this matters) and then everything else was just between me and my university. Finally, my contract was extended to account for the time where I had unpaid parental leave. I am not sure that 'the suspension will take effect the day the notification is received by the [Commission][Agency]' is really true - that just does not make any sense for parental leave - your employer should know in advance. Here in the UK, you would need to notify your employer at least 15 weeks before your due date, but that might be different in Spain. I strongly advise to check with the HR in your university. Best wishes, Jannis
