It is all about people

Dear MCAA members, from my previous experience in groups of similar character from 4 different countries (Croatia, UK, France, Germany), I have learned that happiness and satisfaction of people should come before everything else. To achieve this, as a MCAA board member, I would try to implement these 5 things:
1) MORE BENEFITS for MCAA members – such as “MCAA Learning” platform and variety of webinars that help improving both soft and hard skills.
2) COMMUNICATION – between all the members and board, to include everyone’s ideas and wishes; but also disseminating the science from MCAA to the broader public.
3) OPEN SCIENCE – ‘Two heads are better than one’. In my opinion, research should be about improving the quality of life and creating the progressive society, and not about individual interests.
4) MENTAL HEALTH – stress and emotional fatigue come with challenges to always be faster, better, and smarter. I would try to develop a scheme that would make the research environment more pleasant and fair.
5) EQUITY – not just in science, but in general, every human being should be treated nicely and be given a fair chance without a discrimination based on any criteria (e.g. ethnicity, religion, gender, race).
