Mapping of the Spain-Portugal Chapter

Mapping of the Spain-Portugal Chapter's members :)

Dear all,

As Juan A. Blanco suggested a while ago, it would be nice to see where we all are on a map.

Here is a first trial, with the locations I could find either on the Chapter application or indicated as the current location of the members of this group: Mapping of the Spain-Portugal Chapter's members.

If you are missing from the mapping, please let me know your city of residence so I can add you.

Wishing you a nice week,

Kind regards,

Nadine

I can not acces to the map  (says is private) but maybe also not in since I am still in Munich, Germany. However I will start back in Barcelona (IDIBELL) from January on so if you want to update my data there would be nice.

Dear Nadine.

Could the afiliation be added on the map? I have found two other people in Seville, of which I had no idea. With the name only, how can I contact them?

Dear Marcin,

All the members on the map should be from the Iberian Chapter, in order to contact them, you can either:

  • find their contact info via the MCA website: Almuni>Find alumni> type their names,
  • click directly on their name within the contributors of this Chapter to access to their profile.

Regards,

Nadine

Hi,

Is it only for residents in Spain? I about to finish my PhD in Liverpool.

Hi Teresa,

If I am not mistaken, the Chapter was created to enhance local networking within MCAAs in Spain and Portugal. On the main page of the Spain-Portugal Chapter, it is mentionned that "All MCAA members residing in the chapter’s geographical area can become a member of the Spain-Portugal Chapter.". As you have pointed out, whether MCAAs that lived/have undertaken/will undertake their MCA in Spain-Portugal can join as well should be discussed, as they might offer some insight about MCA in the Iberian peninsula :)

Cheers,

Nadine

The Map looks great :)

Pretty nice distribution!!

Maybe we can plan an event in Madrid as well, since that is geographically in the middle...

What do you guys think?

Dear Nadine,

Thank you for creating the map. It will be useful when organizng the meeting. I just have one comment: the Chapter is called Spain-Portugal, there was some comments at the beggining about the Iberian Chapter (as the islands are also included everyone thought it was better to call it Spain Portugal...Just to keep all the same nomenclature...

I wonder if we could add the link to the map in the webpage.

Thanks for your contribution, will be very nice to meet personally all of us!
Best regards,

Reyes

Dear Reyes,

Thank you for your comment, I changed the name of the map+post accordingly.
The link to the map, if you would like to add it on the webpage, is the following: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=z8YxA7gdEoEY.k2XMW_uKMcqQ

Dear all,

Just to let you know that, if you want to know which Marie Curie fellows are close by, the map is updated with our new members (we are now 76!) .

Additionally, a new code of colors is implemented, as follow:

  • research in Biology (Life Sciences) in green,
  • research in Chemistry in blue,
  • research in Engineering in brown,
  • research in Environmental Sciences in yellow,
  • research in Physics in red,
  • research in Social Sciences in purple.

It should allow you to find synergies among a research area or cooperation opportunities with a specific research field more easily.

As these research fields are quite broad, a link to the MC research project of each member was also added, to get a better idea of teach member's field of expertise.

Please let me know of any correction/suggestion you may have :)

Wishing you a nice week,

Kind regards,

Nadine
