The first MCAA Chapter and Working Group Chair training highlighted the importance of in-person exchange and collaboration

The training, organised on September 21–22, gathered MCAA Chairs from across the world in Athens, Greece, for discussions on Chapter and Working Group management and potential synergies between groups.
The Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) Chapters and Working Groups are an essential part of the Association. They bring together members in different countries and regions worldwide to network, discuss, and work on diverse topics relevant to the research, innovation, and policy landscape.
The people working for the MCAA Chapters and Working Groups dedicate their time and efforts to manage multiple thematics related to their groups. The weekend-long training focused on discussing and supporting the Chairs on some of these, including member engagement, group collaborations, and internal and external communication.
In addition to the planned sessions, the training allowed Chairs to meet each other—some for the first time face-to-face—to exchange ideas and experiences and discuss potential joint activities and cooperation.
The two-day meeting in Athens culminated in a guided tour and visit to the Acropolis, where the Chairs had the opportunity to discover more about the history of the birthplace of science, arts, democracy, and philosophy of Western civilisation.
The training gave food for thought to help the Chapters and Working Groups, as well as the overall MCAA management, better serve the association's members, plan engaging activities, and interact with collaborators within and outside the MCAA.
We thank all attendees for their participation and invaluable contributions to the MCAA community!
