Brexit Debate Invitation: Stakeholders gather to discuss the real impacts for British science & innovation and for the EU 27 on the eve of Europe Day. - As President of EuroScience, Europe’s grass-roots membership association, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in an important debate taking place on Monday 8th May at the Royal Institution. EuroScience, The Royal Institution and Academia Europaea with support from Elsevier are organising an open discussion on Brexit: the facts behind opportunities & challenges for both the UK & European Science Establishments. When and where? When: May 8, 2017, 13.30-18.00 hours UK time (on the occasion of Europe Day – May 9 – which celebrates the 1950 “Schumann Declaration” when it all began for the EU). Where: Royal Institution, 21 Albemarle Street, London W1S 4BS, UK. Schedule EuroScience is very committed to the idea of building and fostering a vibrant European science and innovation community. Our biennial ESOF (EuroScience Open Forum) events and our webmagazine, EuroScientist are well known in this regard. For this debate, we have invited distinguished panellists to discuss what BREXIT, in any of its variants, might mean for UK science as it leaves the EU while equally gauging the impacts for the remaining EU 27 science family. To do so, we will be presenting the latest data available based on our rich partnerships across the continent and our interactions with the wider world. We will have two panels of four speakers with one moderator first having a lively debate before opening it up to our 450 guests.
