Brexit As I'm sure you are all aware, on 23rd June Britain will be voting on whether or not to stay in the EU. I think it we could play a role in the debate. To that end, Pinar Oztop has suggested we propose a question on Question Time along the lines of: "How will research funding in the UK will be affected by exiting the EU?" Would anyone be interested in volunteering to ask a question? https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5vyK2GwYrdQGFvCJyKNfZhn/join-the-question-time-audience (I gather the probability of being picked is quite low, so the more the merrier) We could, of course, refine the question as you all see fit.

Good idea but there are just two dates on offer, March 17th Chelmsford is nearest London... If anyone can attend the questions i would like to ask is

" The UK was the main motivator to the enlargement of the EU to 28 states in the late 90's; mainly because it was either enlarge the EU or have further integration. Now that the UK does not like the result, it wants out - is that fair?"

or

" Apart of the merit of the EU; do the panel think the US would be stronger if it were 50 individual states and had 50 different currencies? Does anyone think Russia is more powerful now as a fragmented shadow of the former union, with Syria and Albania as global allies? Discuss "

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the comment, they are both very good questions. Do you think we should focus on political or research questions? Or perhaps we should try both?
