Career Choices Seminar

The German Chapter organized a Career Choices Seminar last Wednesday in Darmstadt. I would like to thank all of the presenters and all of the participants for taking part in our very first event. Over 70 people attended and heard presentations on topics ranging from a journal editor's perspective on publishing to constructive communication. The core of the seminar was related to the choices that our members face on finishing their fellowship: whether to pursue a career in academic research, in industry or to start-up a business. We invited a tax advisor to give an expert view on the tax problems of our members in Germany.

I personally met very many interesting and enthusiastic people and was very encouraged by the many good ideas I heard. I look forward to our future activities.
