Dear all,

I am very happy that I can share good news with you regarding our participation at ESOF.

In order to improve our visibility, provide career benefits to our members, and contribute to the association aims I succeeded to arrange with ESOF organizers to get a room to hold two meetings:

  1. internal meeting of MCAA members (registered to the ESOF conference), to be held Saturday morning 21st June before Career programme

  2. MCAA promotional event for external public, to be held 23rd June Monday morning at a stage in the exhibition area

I succeeded to arrange these completely free of charge!

We believe that it will be very useful for us to meet there and have opportunity to get know each other, discuss relevant issues and cooperate in future. For me as the Chair means a lot to meet our members there, particularly having in mind that we do not have many opportunities to gather together.

The idea with the external promotional event is the following: to hold a short event of 45 minutes with tentative tittle "We built the bridges!" in the line with ESOF motto Science Building Bridges. The aim is to make general public aware of our association and aims, as well as of advantages of prestigious EC Programme Maria Sklodowska Curie Action (MSCA), from which we all benefited. We can present our video and also provide a few short and interesting talks of our members who have already built the 'bridges' owing to science - bridges between continents, different disciplines, sectors, and any other that you find interesting. The idea is to emphasize the excellence.

In the context of these 'bridges' we expect also to have a speaker from EC MSC Action and an ESOF representative – this additionally will enhance the relevance of our event.

Therefore I would like to ask all of you who are interested in the events to register to the ESOF and join us! You have been already informed that a special price has been arranged for MSCA fellows of only 100 Euros and that current MSCA fellows can charge the costs on their project using category 3.

I would also like to ask you to inform us if you are coming to ESOF, by indicating it at this link:  https://www.mariecuriealumni.eu/events/euroscience-open-forum-esof-2014

This is also an opportunity for you to speak at this important event and in a short talk to present your excellent case of 'building bridges' owing to science and MSCA. A few speakers will be selected among our members attending the ESOF. Both younger and experienced members are encouraged to express interest, particularly if you haven't had opportunity before to speak at this conference (although this is not requirement or necessary condition).

If you are interested let us know as soon as possible, by replying to this post, or if you prefer, by sending me a private message. Due to short time left to the conference, the priority will be given to members expressing their interest by 10th June (although the sooner, the better).

I would also like to ask our members based in Copenhagen if they are willing to provide us small logistic help in case we need it.

Hope to see you in Copenhagen soon!

Snezana
