MCAA-Italian chapter

1 min read Jun 23, 2014

Hello, I am a stem cell biologist and working as Marie Curie Fellow at University of Turin, Italy. I want to start a MCAA chapter in Italy. I already have support of 4 members but according to the eligibility criteria, I need to have support from atleast 5, i.e., one more member. Please contact me if you are residing in Italy to support and we can discuss further in this direction. Last deadline to submit proposal is 18 July.

Dear Simonetta,

great. do you have any form of affiliation or relation with Siciliy? The chapter I coordinate is called Sicily (not Italian) Marie Curie Chapter and collects first people with some sort of relation with the island. It isn't a strict criterion but I thought I would ask

thank you

Luigi

Dear Simonetta

Indeed, we and many other fellows are excited about opening the chapter. We are now 12 people who have already joined the group on facebook. Today some of us who are based in Turin had a get-together and we talked about various kind of activites we can plan and organize in this chapter. Please give me your email i.d. or email me at shikhar.aggarwal@unito.it. also send me your ideas what activites you prefer. We need team work to be succesful.

I will email all the members together about the work progress and discuss about the ideas. We need support and ideas of each fellows. For the moment, the responsibilities are not divided yet as the chapter is not functional. I am writing this grant in supervision of my supervisor and with discussion of other fellows like you. Once, the chapter is officaly approved, we need to work on many things like a logo, regional activites and each fellow in its region ll manage and organize the activity and fund. We all will be the founding members. But first thing is to get official approval of the chapter.

Dear all, couple of weeks ago, I sent you a messsage regarding sending me your views why you want to be founding member of MCAA-Italian chapter and what activities/difference you can bring in the organization, however, very few of you have replied. I remind you that only people who are actively involved in the organization for setting up things will be included as part of founding members to manage funds and organize things and others will be associate members... (we strongly need proactive-like-minded-working people for the organization and not just-for-name-sake members, we are already 22 members, so hurry up), send me your ideas at shikhar.aggarwal@unito.it

For people, who have already sent me their views and ideas, please ignore this message.

Dear Shikhar,
thank you for the emails. I think there should be at least one founding member in each university/research center , since in is an Italian chapter, so it is basically based on the Italian universities/research center , rather than the neationalty of the members.  What do you think?
S.
