MSCA Bridging Business and Research - Frankfurt 18th March 2016
An MSCA Bridging Business and Research meeting will take place in Frankfurt on 18th March 2016. Registration information can be found at: https://mscabusiness.teamwork.fr/en/registration. The conference will be in German. No translation is planned.
Companies do not necessarily have the facilities, financial resources or human capital to run their research projects as they would like to. Thanks to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), it is now possible for SMEs or other companies to collaborate with academic research organisations, have access to their equipment, and integrate some of their highly skilled researchers within the research projects of the firm. Transferring cutting-edge science and technology from creative academic groups to SMEs is a key element of successful innovation. We know that well-trained, entrepreneurially-minded researchers who can move between academic and other settings are essential to this successful collaboration. This is why the MSCA are promoting Business-Academic collaborations that focus on giving researchers adequate skills and opportunities to contribute to SME and other business growth. In order to give more practical information on how to get involved in our actions, and to present the latest business opportunities under the new Framework Programme for Research Horizon 2020, the MSCA have launched a promotional campaign across Europe.
Other upcoming events will take place in Barcelona, Belgrade, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Cardiff.

Dear Juan,
You are right. The event is a German language event. The meeting is being run by the National Contact Point for the MSC Actions in Germany - http://www.nks-kmu.de/foerderung-msca.php. The federal government tends to do almost everything in German and the NCP works for the government. I have already suggested to them that their website should really also be in English. Of these meetings only Germany, France and Poland don't hold them in English. I would guess they would say that the target audience are participants from industry and holding it in German makes it easier to attract more industry people.
I speak German and will attend the event. For the German Chapter, it is interesting to see which companies want to take part in the MSC Actions. We will target these companies for cooperation and sponsorship.
Warm regards,
Brian
Dear Brian,
Thanks for your reply. It's all clear. I'm in the process of learning German, but definitely not advanced enough to attend to this kind of meetings.
Good luck then!
Best wishes,
Juan José
Dear Juan José,
the presentations of the previous meetings from all over Europe are available for download at the site: https://mscabusiness.teamwork.fr/index.php
It goes without saying that most of these events throughout Europe are held in English!
Warm regards,
Brian
Dear Brian,
Thanks a lot for sharing it. I wasn't aware that the presentations were uploaded at the MSCABussiness site. Very useful!
Best wishes,
Juan José
Hi Brian,
I know from the time I had a fellowship a guy who had one at a company, CAS Software in Karlsruhe, they liked to recruit future employees through employing them first as Marie Curie this is my impression. Don't know if they still do it.
kind regards
Maria

Dear Brian,
Thanks for sharing this information with us. Unfortunately, in the MCSA website it says that the meeting will take place only in German and that no-translation is planned. I don't know how many of us speak German, but in my case it's a pity.
Best,
Juan
