National groups

1 min read Nov 20, 2013

Hello everybody,

what about creating national groups? They could be used as a reference for finding people/collaborators for national projects and/or for any other regional issues. Sometimes it is difficult finding good collaborators if you are thinking to inter/multidisciplinary projects and you are looking for experts in different fields.

I would like to create the group "National groups" and then subgroups named with the country name, but I could not find the way for creating subgroups, anybody could help me doing it?

Unfortunately nesting groups under other groups is not possible, this functionality would have to be developed. Currently all the groups are flat, there are no parent child relationships, all the groups are equal.

Two issues here: the feasibility of 'cascading groups' (as just commented, not currently possible, but might be developed) and the principle of having national groups. For the latter, this is definitely a major objective for the future (especially if this is what MCAA members want!), and, as you will see, this is already part of the plans and to some extent 'enshrined' in the articles of association (which we plan to send to the meeting participants any time now).
Definitely a topic for the meeting on Saturday.

Hey Riccardo. National Groups is a good idea and we can include some info for new fellows about things one should know when arriving the country.
Probably the best way is to create a group at the website for each national group, ex National Group - France

Hi Rui,
there is already the Group "Settling in a new country" for this topic but of course the national groups could be also used for this.

In my opinion is an excellent idea. We should discuss this on Saturday. See you tomorrow
