Short term training...

Short term training fellowships? Does anyone has information about short-term training fellowships for international non-Europeans (working in an European institute) for a period of 3 months to 1 year, like the EMBO short term training to go outside Europe? Exchange is between two labs, one is european partner and other is US. Unfortunately Fullbright don't apply for foreigners resident in European country. Any relevant information is very welcome. Thanks S

Hi Shikhar,

I posted something about DAAD PRIME a while back. 12 months outside of Germany with 6 months' return phase in Germany. No nationality requirements. There's not much time: the deadline is February 1st and you would need a German host for the return phase. It's a Marie Curie COFUND program. Funding would start September 1st.

Regards,

Brian

Hi Shikhar,

here is a travel grant for visits up to 3 months: https://www.bifonds.de/fellowships-grants/travel-grants.html

The travel grants are open to:

  • non-European citizens who perform their MD, PhD or postdoctoral project in Europe
  • PhD students not older than 30 years of age
  • postdocs not older than 32 years of age

Applications may be submitted at any time. They mention submitting at least 6 weeks before planned travel.

At the German chapter, I am looking at making a lot of posts on such sources of funding, so that the membership can develop their careers.

Regards,

Brian
