Dear All,

We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2018 Annual General Assembly, which will be held on Saturday 24 March 2018 at University College London (UCL), London.

The MCAA-UK General Assembly will be the perfect opportunity for you to learn more about the Chapter and its current activities, as well as to propose new ideas for future events, including the host city for the 2019 General Assembly!

We got enthusiastic feedback from members after last year's meeting -- and we are aiming to make it still better.

Last but not least, there will be also be lots of opportunities for informal networking and making new friends.

Register your attendance for free here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/marie-curie-alumni-association-uk-general-assembly-2018-tickets-43052844216?aff=efbeventtix

There are two ways you can actively contribute to the success of the event:

1)   Participate in the icebreaker Flash presentations session by presenting your current research with one slide in two minutes! This session is designed to put your research (and achievements!) in the spotlight and encourage networking. It will take place in the morning, right after the welcome introduction.

2)   Take part in the Pub Slam!

Showcase your research in the most entertaining way you can think of: singing, acting, stand-up, poetry… you name it! You will be given a slot of maximum 5 minutes for your performance. Each act will be evaluated by our judge, and prizes include a trip to the MCAA General Assembly 2019 in Wien (Austria) and a trip to Edinburgh, Scotland, to attend the Fringe Festival and showcase your research (courtesy of the MCAA Scotland Chapter). It’s going to be fun!

Please note that the Slam will take place at the pub after the event.

Please get in touch by responding to this email if you’d like to participate in any of the two activities (or both!) above.

We look forward to meeting you all here in London!
