The MCAA publishes policy statements on the Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) and the Choose Europe initiative

In the two statements, the MCAA provides its recommendations for EU funding to better support the advancement of the European research ecosystem and for attracting international talent to the European Research Area.
MCAA's vision for the next MFF: Strengthening European Competitiveness by empowering the MSCA
The first statement summarises the MCAA’s feedback to the European Commission’s request for public consultation on shaping the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
The Commission’s ambition to create a focused, simpler, and more impactful EU budget presents a significant opportunity to ensure that the needs of the research and innovation community are well represented.
In the statement, the MCAA highlights key areas where EU funding can better support the advancement of scientific excellence, inclusivity, and the long-term sustainability of Europe’s research ecosystem.
MCAA on Choose Europe: Attracting Global Talent to Build a Stronger ERA
In the second statement, the MCAA expresses its support for the Choose Europe initiative, reaffirming Europe’s commitment to research, innovation, and international collaboration.
Building on the initial proposal presented in the Heitor report, the Choose Europe initiative, presented by President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission on 5 May 2025, covers several actions and programmes beyond the MSCA for attracting global talent to Europe.
The strong emphasis of the Choose Europe initiative on freedom of scientific research and openness resonates deeply with the MCAA’s core values and long-standing advocacy.
