additional funding

Hi,

when I was enrolled for PhD in Germany I had a German grant of 1024 eur im month. The contract was 2+1 year. When I was in the 2nd year I thought I will need more time, so I applied for the that time MC host fellowships, which were between 3 and 12 months for doctoral candidates in another place, 1200 eur in month. My doctoral supervisor let me only 6 month, as I could have 2 months additional income allowed by the contract in the first quarter of the 3rd year and 4 months in the final year which was not full. He did not interupt in order to have 2 years + 6 months + 1 year as he said I will be able to stay 6 months after the end of the 3 years on my savings. However, this makes it complicated now what I put in my CV. Any ideas?

Some of my colleagues however were employed as HiWi, for 40 hours a month which was the maximum. This was not an option for me as I worked as HiWi the year before the doctoral grant, and HiWi you can be max. 4 years from your graduation.
