Thanks a lot

Fellows, indeed great to have a feedback from all.

Indeed it is not really a choice since we do have to finish. In fairness, the money reduction is not bad as it will also get me rid of the curse that is to receive more money than the other PhD students and on the curse of always being reduced to "ah you earn more so why do you need money to go for a conference or to pay your secondment".

My issue is more on the permanent residence and future citizenship application.

I have been told that because of the MC and the Eu Blue Card , the time to request permanent residence and citenzship is reduced. As this is probably linked to be a MC fellow, I have to ask at the foreign agency what happens and how will my work visa be also extended (since it expires on October, 2 months after the MC contract is finished).

As I do want to stay in Germany, I'm more concerned that somehow with a new regular PhD contract the Blue Card EU could be gone and things get awry with the application to stay and become European.

Again, thanks for the answers.
